SHQ Show & Tell, Debbie & Claude day #3

Debbie & Claude arrived early on Thursday (8/8) so that Debbie and I could head off to quilting.  Today was the first day of a 3 day class (the next 2 ‘days’ of the class will take place in subsequent months).  Corinne:

gave a talk on how to pick fabric for a ONE BLOCK WONDER and showed us examples of different ones and how differences in the fabric would come across in the quilt.  We had our regular meeting and show and tell after that:

a beautiful quilt from Mary Ann

she also had a table runner

June crocheted these shoes!!!!!  The bottoms are from flip flops!!!

Gee is leanring to sew clothes and made this cute wrap around skit

Isn't that adorable?

When we were done, we moved to another classroom where some people began cutting their fabric.  I was a hosting quilter, so Debbie and I were there until 2 PM, and after a quick stop at the library, we were home to catch up with Michael and Claude.  Apparently they took a golf cart tour far and wide and Claude got lots and lots of pictures.  We sat around talking for a bit and Anne stopped by for a visit.

My friend Pat W made dog scarves for Cookie several years ago.  I put one around Cookie’s collar and over the course of ONE DAY…she chewed it off.  I’ve had the other one on our front hall table, just waiting to give back to Pat or give away…and finally Thursday was the day.  When Anne stopped, she had a dog in her car…one of the many that she watches, and here’s where the collar ended up:

The owner was THRILLED to receive it....Pat, It's Elaine W from Cooking Fingers…..so….THANKS PAT!!!

After Anne left we headed out to 521 BBQ for dinner.

my dinner (next time I'll definitely get the mac 'n' cheese!!)

We were home by 7:30 and continued to talk and talk (I’m not sure we would ever run out of things to talk about!!), but eventually Debbie & Claude had to leave for their hotel.  It was a WONDERFUL visit…and they are actually considering coming down again in the spring…WHOO HOO!!!!!!

Michael and I watched a bit of TV before heading to bed.
