Everyone
(including me!) groaned when 6:30 AM came around on Wednesday (5/18), but we
all hopped out of the bed and met Loree, Jan, Pat, Lisa & Diane at the
grandparent’s park at 7:45 for our day of fabric shopping. The eight of us hit Foust first…and what a
difference there was in our experience.
Normally we have only gone during sale week…and it is PACKED with women
buying fabric. This time we had the
whole place to our selves. We put our
stuff in the back of the car:
and headed
to Carolina Cotton Company (with a quick stop on the way for bacon/egg/cheese
biscuits from HARDEES!) Somehow we found
more fabric we just had to have, and after we loaded up the car again:
we headed to a local diner for lunch. After that we hit SEW MUCH FUN…and again,
found wonderful fabric and patterns that made us happy. Here’s the trunk after our final shopping
destination:
We were pretty tired after
that and needed a pick-me-up, so off to Tony’s for ice cream it was:
Mary Jo & me! |
We finally got home around 3 PM, and collapsed,
but only briefly. I called Pat and she
dragged herself over and we did “the lightning round” with Ginny’s fabric and
got it all sorted into piles for various and sundry people. Michael cooked a Papa Murphy's pizza while we were
finishing up, Pat dragged herself home (only to go to canasta 15 minutes later….that
woman has more stamina than anyone I know!!) and BG, Mary Jo and I collapsed
for the rest of the evening. We briefly
SKYPED with Janice and let her in on the Mary Jo surprise visit…otherwise it
was talk/yawn/talk/yawn until we all went to bed.
