Michael & Grant Z, embroidery whales

We had a late, leisurely (leftover) pancake breakfast on Sunday (6/21) and by the time I got to my studio it was 11 AM.  I got a few embroideries done and a few more blocks sewn together on the tablecloth before Candy & Ralph picked us up for our matinee at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte.  We saw COUGAR:THE MUSICAL and it was wonderful and funny.  The best thing about it was the male lead.  This was a kid Michael worked with 5 – 6 years ago in INHERIT THE WIND.  He was 14 years old then, and Michael came home and said ‘that kid’s going to be a star”…I pooh, pooh-ed this and asked how he could possibly know that.  He just smiled…..6 years later…here we are and Grant Z. IS a star (and still just a genuinely nice guy):

After dinner we headed to Mama Ricotta’s for a delicious meal.  We were home by 7 PM, and Michael settled in to watch the last of the US Open, while I hit the studio for a bit more sewing and embroidery:
