Sweet Charity baking, customer quilt finished, rose

Michael left before 7:30 AM for golf here at SCCL on Saturday (9/16) and after a quick trip to the library and the grocery store I spent the entire rest of the morning in my kitchen.  I put together 30 individual Cookies & Cream Cheesecakes (I like the way I garnished them this time...I cut an oreo into quarters, then stuck a quarter on top of each cheesecake):

and 60 Baklava Cookies

for the Volunteer Sweet Charity Event taking place Saturday night.  I was in charge of this event last year and I can't wait to hear how it turned out this year.

I got to visit my studio in the afternoon and completed quilting on the newest customer quilt.  I got it off of the frame, trimmed and all of the basting ripped out and Jennifer came over to pick it up about an hour later.  She asked for the 'heart in hand' quilting, which I didn't have, but my FaceBook group quickly told me where I could buy it:

I started to put the binding on my first Valor quilt and also kicked off a label….and came to the conclusion that I need to take my embroidery machine in to be serviced  :~(.  Not what I wanted…but it is not working when stitching out labels, so I need to suck it up and take it in.  I got the binding put mostly on the first quilt (leaving a space where the label will go) and by then it was time to take all of my desserts up to the Lake House.  After that it was a quick dinner, a quicker shower and we were off to Fort Mill Playhouse for concessions work once again.  We stopped at Baskin/Robbin’s on the way home and enjoyed our ice cream and TV until we fell into bed.

I so wish I had gotten a picture of this rose before it opened, the coloring was so pretty...this is from our rose bush by the side of the house:
