garden flowers, Inez!!!, chairs for sale

Michael left for golf at 7 AM on Wednesday morning (7/19) and I did a bunch of stuff around the house (one of which was fresh flowers for Inez's guestroom):

before leaving at 9:30 to pick her up:  

We made a quick stop at ALDI’s on the way home, then sat out on our new deck/porch.  Michael came home about 5 minutes later (happy with his 84) and came out to talk.  He said he wasn’t totally sold about calling our new “room” a porch….but he didn’t like deck either.  Inez is currently living in Florida and many people call their outside room a lanai (pronounced lan_eye').  Michael liked that…but those rooms are on the ground….and ours is up in the air…so (with the inspiration he always has) he decided our new space should be called….wait for it….a lan_AIR!!!!!!  I LOVE it :~).  So…that’s what we’re going to try to use…yes…I know we’re crazy.  

Anyway, while we were talking we welcomed Inez with our newest Strawcello Martini:

and she said she loved it.  As I suspected, we talked the rest of the day away.  Finally at 5:30 we started getting dinner ready….and Cookie made a new friend:  

We made one pot pasta….yum!!!

And Inez brought us these heavenly HUGE Scottish shortbread cookies with ganache filling for dessert….unfortunately we didn’t get a picture until after we ate 1/2 of them  :~).  

We sat around and talked for a bit more after dinner, but finally I headed downstairs to send out minutes for 2 of my clubs.  That took a good long while, after which I got the program set up for the second Valor quilt before falling into bed.

For those in the area who could potentially pick these up, we are selling our 2 zero gravity chairs, 2 for $40.  Please let me know if you are interested before I put them on the classifieds!
