2017 Fiber Floozie Retreat

So, I spent last week party-ing with my nearest and dearest….by party I mean that I went to a quilting retreat.  It was six days away where you only talk about quilting, do work that’s about quilting, hang out around quilting and only are with quilters.  If you don’t have any hobbies then you can’t really understand what it’s like.  But if you do, just imagine spending 6 days with other people who are as passionate as you are about whatever it is you are doing….we just let the good times roll!!!

We were on the road by 6:30 AM on Tuesday (10/10):

unfortunately between traffic due to I-77 being under construction, and a couple of accidents, it took us almost 10 hours to arrive at our destination  :~(.  Our arrival was further complicated by the fact that the facility was locked, with our custodian nowhere in sight.  Somehow she thought Thursday was the 10th, not Tuesday :~(.  We finally got in and got set up, and the Connecticut contingent arrived:

Deb, Pat, June

That's all of the Fiber Floozies!  We set up the snack/booze station:

and had a quick dinner of Papa Murphy's pizza:

before completing set-up:

and starting to sew, sew, sew!!!

You know, it wasn't all sewing...there were gifts:

who knew these had TWO potential uses???

and food:

and wildlife:

and still more sewing (NONE of us could believe the amount of projects we accomplished this week):

and, as always, there was more silliness (as Mary Jo's mascot mysteriously moved from place to place):

These women are quite simply the best people and best friends I have ever known, and....even if you make a complete A** of yourself...they still love you in the end  (as I love all of you!!!) :~).

What more can I say....it is always a very special week.
