And the White House briefings on
the Corona virus rise to an even greater level of lunacy (on Thursday) as the
president suggests that maybe people can inject disinfectants right into their
bodies to ‘clean out’ the virus in an instant.
(Here’s the quote: ‘’ “I see the
disinfectant where it knocks it out in one minute,” Trump said at the time, once
again pushing unproven treatments for COVID-19. “Is there a way we can do
something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? … It would be
interesting to check that.”)
I wonder
how many people are going to die by trying this newest suggestion from the
moron-in-chief. Public health officials
in some states have indicated that they have already received inquiries as to
whether a person should do this. Yes, as
of today he’s trying to slough it off as if he was joking…..because of course,
this situation is something to joke about
:~(. I noticed at Friday's briefing he read prepared remarks and that was it. Someone is getting a little smarter.
Then there’s the other side
of the coin…..US deaths due to the virus are now over 50,000 (in just 9 weeks);
this is a major event in US history, with NO acknowledgement of any kind from
the president, no sorrow of any kind, no thought or mention of the toll it is
taking on the survivors….just the same old rhetoric “we’re doing a great job’’.
I made a quick run to the chiro Friday
morning (4/24), before joining Paula for day #2 of our weekly retreats:
I actually got LOTS of socializing this week…..distance
retreating with Judy on Monday, distance fiber-ing with Pam and Rosalie on
Wednesday, and 2 day distance retreating with Paula Thursday and Friday. Paula fed me again for lunch today…yummy
chicken salad sandwiches (with keto bread BG!) with bacon, lettuce and tomato…..with
jicama, walnuts and stuffed celery for some crunch on the side:
We had our usual visitors:
Ethel, facinated by my sewing box |
Paula finished up 2 quilt tops (I love this pattern and can't wait to do it!!):
and I
finished up all of my ‘feather’ blocks:
After that I switched machines, and got the binding sewed down on the
wrong side of one quilt:
note binding draped over back of chair |
We sewed until
2:30 when both of us were at a good stopping point.
After Paula packed up her supplies and left, everyone was out on the lanair until dinnertime…it was lovely:
Ethel |
Lucy |
We both had corn on the cob for dinner and it
was yummy!!! After that I spent a bit of
time in my studio….sewing together some binding:
and getting 2 labels done:
Another test to see if this will post today
