Michael left for golf around 7:30 AM on Saturday (and came
home around 3 PM….very happy with his 83)!!
Inez and I spent a lot of time sitting in the kitchen talking and talking:
she always has a companion |
before finally getting started on our baking for the day. One of the things we talked about was what the baking tour would be for 2020!!! And I think we are doing miniatures.....we got a start when we made up chocolate dough for our
cookie cups…..
in a mini-muffin tin |
then I took another stab at lemon curd….with similar results to
the first time…..not thick enough
:~(. I'm going to contact King Arthur Flour on Monday to see what can be done.
Finally we made caramel to
go into our cookie cups
and tried them out…..yum!!
filling the chocolate shells |
Inez also made truffles out of the leftover ganache:
We had leftover butternut squash pasta for
dinner before settling into the studio to get the backing for a customer quilt
loaded up.

Janice’s words – ‘starting down a slippery slope, usurped the
guest bed to lay out one quilt while sewing rows together so I could get my
"Southern quilt" up on the design wall.'
doesn't this look really, really nice? and all out of teeny, tiny scraps |
