Wednesday (9/25) was a whirlwind of a day. I got rough puff pastry made in the morning,
while Inez spent time thickening up our lemon curd.
I asked Michael to take a quick pic of us:
before Paula picked us up at 10:20 AM and we met
Loree at the Lake House and headed into Charlotte for lunch at the
Greenway. We had a delightful time together
and as always, the food was yummy:

butternut squash soup....OH SO YUMMY!! |
|
Inez had the pork |
|
I had chilli rellenos |

Loree also had the pork |

while Paula had the salmon/shrimp cakes |
|
a very unusual dessert due to the fact that they have no baking students this semester!! |
We
were home by 2:30, but I had some intestinal issues and just could not get
myself going on the almond galette (which would use the puff pastry from the
morning). Loree followed us home to pick up some treats as a partial thank you for my new sewing machine (story tomorrow hopefully):
Donnis showed up around 3 PM
to shove some lemon tarts in her mouth:
She is always so much fun!! She
visited for just a bit, then had to take off before our other guests showed up
at 4 PM.

They tried everything….but we
still have BUNCHES of food left….Inez thinks each recipe made many more ‘things’
than the recipes we used last year….luckily I have many people to give it
to. We had restaurant leftovers for
dinner, then Michael picked up Larry and headed out to the movies, while Inez
and I relaxed in front of the TV.

Michael’s Movie Reviews ***
Hustler -
starring JLO, and other scantily clad actors try to put together a movie and a
plot...they fail. Predicable, boring, slow moving, poorly acted...save your
money! 1 fat quarter out of 5 (JLO does
pole dance quite well.)
