It took me a long time to get my blog out on Friday (9/21) and
while I was doing that, Inez was in the kitchen measuring out everything we
needed for our Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Cookies….when I went upstairs I
felt like one of those Food Network stars where they have minions to put
everything into little bowls so that you just toss the stuff into your mixer
and go!! It had to chill for 2 hours and
we needed to wait for Michael to come home from BJ’s and Publix to start making
the Double Chocolate Coconut Cookes. We
finally got everything baked:

gives a whole different meaning to rolling....rolling....rolling...doesn't it? |

and invited our intrepid tasters over (we only
had 2, one other was out of town and the fourth couldn’t make it):
|
they each got a small piece of the torte, and 1/2 each of a shortbread cookie, and chocolate caramel cookie, and a coconut macaroon |

They pronounced everything delicious!! After they left, I made butternut squash
pasta for dinner, and managed to sew one more block on my leading quilt
before
collapsing for the day.
By the way.....Anne's quilt is finished....and it was gifted on Thursday....here the story (the top was finished on retreat):

it was secretly loaded right after the purple quilt |

I bought a special quilting design just for Anne....look closely |
