We were up and out of the house before 8 AM on
Friday (10/5), headed to the Social Security office. That was certainly an experience. We got there 20 minutes before the office
opened, and there were already 20 people in line ahead of us! We finally got to meet with a representative
and got most of our questions answered.
After a stop at the grocery store and the vet’s office, we were finally
home by NOON.
After a quick snack, I
headed downstairs and got the final row of quilting done on my second QoV.
I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up
the 2 quilts (burying ends and ripping out basting) and getting them off of my
quilting frame.
At 5 PM Michael picked another beautiful bouquet of hydrangeas as a hostess gift
and we headed over
to our neighbor’s for dinner. We had a
lovely evening at Phil & Evelyn’s
They made beef stroganoff with a salad for dinner and the flavor was wonderful.
Evelyn gave me her recipe (as well as a
couple of others I can’t wait to try) and we sat around after dinner and just
talked for several hours. She made
strawberry shortcake for dessert
and after we finished that and talked a bit more,
we headed for home.
Michael and I
finished out the night reading our books in the living room before bed.
