NEW
YEAR”S EVE!!!! We were up early and
headed to WALMART for some groceries, IHOP for breakfast, the liquor store (for
our party tonight) the chiro so that Michael could get an adjustment, and one
more grocery store that had pork loin on sale.
We were home by 11 and relaxed just a bit before diving into pre-party
activities. Since only one person was
bringing a dessert, I made dipped oreos,
|
with crushed candy canes on top...yum! |
and hot cocoa cookies. I also put together ham & Cheese roll ups
(which were very good)
|
rolled out dough to 12 inch circle |
|
added butter/poppyseed/onion/mustard sauce |
|
added layer of ham |
|
added layer of cheese, cut into 12 crescents and rolled up
|
and puff pastry/pesto/cheese bites (which I forgot to
cook!)
WE had one last snuggle for 2013:
There was a ton of food
once the 30 people for the party arrived at 7 PM (I think we’re at capacity for
our house with 30 people). Jan &
Walt & Mark decided not to visit with that many people (Mark is still not
100% stable on his feet) so I piled a plate high with desserts and Loree, Lisa,
Debra & I drove over to her house for a surprise visit! We all quilt together and Jan was surprised and
delighted to see us. I think everyone
had fun at the party…we did a count down with champagne at 10, popped our
poppers and sang Auld Lang Syne.

Then everyone
gathered up their things and headed home.
By 10:45, Michael and I were sitting in our chairs reading, with the
dishwasher going. We turned on the TV at
11:57…watched the ball drop…and headed to bed.
