Michael was up and out by 7:30 AM
on Friday (1/31) for an eye appointment and Ann Mary picked me p at 8:50 for
breakfast with the gals:
Ann Mary & Sally |
Gale & me.....Ginny had to attend a doctor's appointment with Ken |
I had a yummy
veggie omelet:
and we sat and talked for over 2 hours!!!
I got home in time to talk to Michael about
his morning for an hour, then we left with Cookie for her follow-up appointment
at the vet hospital. She is doing
extremely well…YAYAYAYAY!!!!!!! Platelets
have gone from literally 4 when she was admitted to over 400,000 which is where
they should be. She is still
anemic...they gave her a shot of iron...they didn't want to do it before
because without platelets they were afraid to create huge bruise/blood clot in her
muscle due to unchecked bleeding. Steroids
are giving her the muscle weakness that means she still can't jump up into the
bed...and she's going to be on them for 6 – 12 months along with an immunosuppressant
drug....but she's gone from 8 medicines given 5 times a day to 3 medicines
given twice a day...so that's great!!! She
has to have several follow-up appointments to monitor her progress, the next
one is in 2 weeks.
We were home by 4 PM,
and I did get a bit of sewing done (starting to sew my blocks into rows):
before
settling in to relax for the evening.
Mary Jo sent a few more pictures from Japan...
a shogun castle |
(In pre-modern Japan, the shogun was Japan's supreme military leader, awarded the title by the emperor, and by tradition a descendant of the prestigious Minamoto clan. From 1603 through 1869, Japan was ruled by a series of shoguns known as the Tokugawa Shogunate, descended from Tokugawa Ieyasu.)
A totally crazy looking drugstore....how they can find anything I'll never know:
And their last meal together, a traditional Japanese feast:
Yummy Omelette - nice to have friends like that to have breakfast with!!
