Well, I am home once again from a quilting
retreat.
|
our packed car at the beginning of the trip |
I really wasn’t mentally ready for the
QUAP retreat at all….remember, QUAP stands for Quilt-a-holics….And Pat. Even though she has made quilts, and quilts a
great deal of fabric before sewing it into purses and bags….she maintains that
she is NOT a quilter!!
The retreat was
originally supposed to be at the end of March….then the retreat house got sold out from
under us and the retreat moved to Easter weekend. For obvious reasons someone couldn’t make it,
so it was hastily set for another house at the end of February.
Two of our members drove to Edisto Beach from
Chicago, 2 others flew in from Arizona, 1 from New Mexico and 3 of us were
lucky enough to be within 4 hours driving distance. We all arrived safely, but one of us had to
leave 2 days after arriving for a medical emergency at home (at this point all
is well!!)
But the retreat worked its
magic and we had an incredible time at the beach. When I looked up from sewing…this is what I
saw:
Yes, that’s the Atlantic Ocean….it
was a beautiful and soothing view.
We
had wonderful food (and PLENTY of it):
|
even some specially shipped in from CHICAGO!!! |
|
here's to you Mary!!! |
lots of presents:
and worked our fingers to the bone:
And the projects went on and on and on:
|
yes....I made 2 |
|
this still needs borders |
|
yes....2 of these as well |
|
2 of these as well |
We even took the time to chill now and again:
I’m home now, still thinking of these ladies, most of whom I only see once per year
and smiling at the friendships that have formed from our love of
quilting. I am blessed to share that
love with these wonderful ladies:
