new TV, Mary Jo's owl

We were up early on Saturday (2/2) as our new TV was to be delivered between 8 AM and NOON….turned out to be almost NOON before they got here.  I spent the morning continuing to sew borders on my blocks: 

and getting my bobbins wound and the program set up for the cloud quilt.  

Jacob and Matt finally showed up just before NOON…we were ready for them:

It took over 3 hours to get everything done!!!  After initially being interested, Lucy & Ethel kept well out of the fray:

Do you still remember the days when you got a new TV, you plugged it in, and you were ready to go?  Not anymore….it gets calibrated to your phone, your tablet and anything else you want  :~).  When they were finally done, Michael really wanted to check everything out, so I read my book until dinner.  

Michael had the last of his pizza for dinner and I had some of Jim’s sausage bread and we decided to christen our new TV by watching the first LORD OF THE RINGS movie….the picture and sound were incredible and we are both very happy with our Christmas present to each other. 

Mary Jo had a close encounter of the bird kind...isn't this picture from her back porch just incredible???
