leftovers quilt, Cookie & Elsie

We were both up early on Friday (4/15) as it was a rather busy day.  Our landscape contractor was supposed to come by in the early morning, but she never made it, so I got to sew until 11:30 on the leftovers quilt:

sew 5 inch squares into 4 patch blocks

decide blocks need spacers...but they're so colorful you can barely see them!

add on sides

 until when Carolyn & Beth picked up me and Jan and we headed off to lunch!  We went to City Tavern in Waxhaw and all had the soup and salad, or soup and 1/2 a sandwich combo.  Then we were very naughty and Beth and I split a piece of 5 layer chocolate cake, while Carolyn & Jan split a piece of turtle truffle cake….DIVINE!  I got home in time from lunch to get out of Carolyn’s car and get into our car to drive to Michael’s heart doc appointment.  They just wanted to check out the pacemaker function and it is working perfectly.  We did a few errands on the way home, and finally came home to spend a bit of time on our computers.  Naturally, we had company:

ahhh, things back to normal

 And then headed upstairs for dinner (leftovers from last night) and a tiny bit more sewing and then TV watching and knitting.  It really was a terrific day!

I woke up sneezing on Saturday (4/16) morning and the day didn’t get any better :~(.  I went back to bed and slept until 1 PM!!!   Then I continued to drink hot beverages, take vitamin C, and nap on various pieces of furniture….not a fun day  :~(.
